STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Emma is a Strategic Communications Manager with a background in mission-driven storytelling and international development.

Emma develops and implements strategic communication plans that help clients navigate shifting global landscapes and reach their diverse stakeholder networks. She draws on her background in mission-driven storytelling to help organizations demonstrate measurable impact and tell their stories effectively.

Prior to joining Crosscut, Emma served as the Senior Communications Coordinator at Resonance, where she spent six years managing communications for projects funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and its partner organizations. In that role, Emma led global communications strategies for high-impact innovation funds that addressed key development challenges in food security, gender-based violence, global health, and a variety of other topics across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. She collaborated directly with local grantees across these regions to amplify their voices and showcase the on-the-ground impact of their work.

Emma holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Women & Gender Studies with a minor in Political Communication from the University of Delaware. She also holds a Master of Arts in Media & Public Affairs from the George Washington University, where she served as a Graduate Assistant. She lives in Washington, DC, with her fluffy black cat named Nox.
