DIRECTOR

Simon Brown has extensive experience in public affairs, media outreach, and message development. He manages technology, health care, and non-profit clients, and is an in-house editorial expert at Crosscut.

Prior to joining Crosscut, Simon spent a total of eight years in the communications departments of  Americans United for Separation of Church and State and Small Business Majority. While at those organizations, he managed social media accounts, developed relationships with media, conducted media training, and wrote op-eds, speeches and congressional testimony.  

Before working for non-profits, Simon was a sports reporter for outlets like NBC and Sports Illustrated, and a tax policy reporter for Tax Notes Today.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history with honors from Brandeis University and a Master of Science in Journalism degree from Northwestern University.
